Early socialization for puppies is critical early on. Between about 4 weeks until 16 weeks or so, puppies are better able to acclimate to new things if introduced properly. This behavior sets the stage for later in their life. After this time, it is much more difficult to overcome fears and anxieties in puppies. These fears and anxieties can lead to dysfunction with their new families, other household pets and daily life.
Animal Hospital of Statesville has totally revamped our Puppy Socialization Classes to introduce the techniques professional behaviorists use to help puppies acclimate to their new lives without mom and siblings.
Our classes will be held on Monday evenings from 6:15 to 6:45 (time subject to change). If you are interested and your puppy is between 10 and 16 weeks of age, and vaccines are up to date per our PSC (Puppy Socialization Class) standards, please call us to register for classes. At this time, classes are free to all Animal Hospital of Statesville puppies in the 10 to 16-weeks-of-age range and only $5 if you are not an AHS client. If your puppy is younger than 10 weeks, ask your Animal Hospital of Statesville veterinarian how to get your puppy ready to start class.
