Veterinarian
Dr. Amber Talbot joined the Animal Hospital team in 2024 after completing a three-week externship here during her last year of vet school. She fell in love with the practice's culture, values and staff and has been a source of positivity for clients and patients since joining. Dr. Talbot will practice at both the Statesville and South Main locations, when South Main opens this fall.
Dr. Talbot seeks to gain the respect and trust of all her patients and clients. Like the Animal Hospital team, she feels strongly that care is a collaboration between her, pets, and clients. Dr. Talbot is especially interested in dentistry, ultrasonography and radiology within veterinary medicine.
A Hokie through and through, she attended Virginia Tech for both her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine). Dr. Talbot was a Teaching Assistant for three years while in undergrad, and she discovered that she really enjoyed educating others. She brings that love of teaching to all of her appointments as she emphasizes client education as the main driver for favorable patient outcomes.
Outside of her veterinary career, Dr. Talbot has many and varied interests! She loves cooking, shopping, volleyball and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops in her spare time. She enjoys spending time with her family, which consists of her fiance, Connor, their cat, "Iyra", and their sweet Lab/Pittie mix, "Oak". Her pets are very much like her children, providing comfort, support, unconditional love, and making North Carolina feel like home.
