Veterinarian
Dr. Julia Zuercher joined the Team at Animal Hospital of Statesville in July of 2021. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia, but was raised in Richmond. Long story short, she found out about AHS and decided to come and observe our hospital. We immediately wanted to "keep her"! At that time, however, she was still in veterinary school, and her intention was not to join our practice, but just to observe. Dr. Zuercher said she "instantly fell in love with the supportive culture and the way they (AHS) value employees and clients. Everyone here loves what they do, and I wanted to be a part of it!" A graduate of Virginia Tech's Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM), she was named a Nandi Scholar for 2021 as an "up and comer" in the field of Theriogenology (animal reproduction) and was an AKC Veterinary Outreach Scholar throughout veterinary school. Her career goal is to provide exeptional care that helps pets and their families feel at ease. Dr. Zuercher wants to build a successful reproductive service to help responsible breeders produce healthy puppies. She is also an Elite Fear Free Certified Professional.
