Veterinary Patient Care Team
Kay Leigh is another Statesville native (we get a lot of great folks from our own 'backyard')! She grew up in Union Grove and attended high school at North Iredell High School. She went on to get her Bachelor's degree in History at UNC Chapel Hill and is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Kay Leigh is married to Kurtis, and they initiated the Animal Hospital of Statesville baby boom, adding their daughter, Kamille, to our AHS family! (as well as their own, of course!) Kay Leigh and Kurtis have 4 pets - Elmer the Basset Hound, Callie the Heeler/Lab mix and Peyton, a Shih Tzu mix. They also have one cat named Ash. An avid fitness 'junky', she loves to lift weights and spends lots of time outside. She also loves to read. Spending her rare free time with her hubby and pets is also important to her.
Kay Leigh started out at AHS as a client (as did a few others of us). She said she was lucky enough to be approached about an open Veterinary Assistant position and she started working with us in October, 2018.
Though she was born and raised in Iredell county, she spent 5 years in Colorado. She loves all animals and loves her job! We're happy to have Kay Leigh on our team. She's quick to catch on, a hard worker, and has a very even disposition, making her a great team player - always willing to learn new things and help out!
