  • IVY (Pet Resort & Spa Staff)
    GUEST SERVICES TECHNICIAN

Born in Boone, NC, Ivy lived in Avery county until she was in the 4th grade and then she moved to Statesville. She graduated from North Iredell High School in 2013 and is currently attending Mitchell Community College. She is hoping to continue her education even further and wants to pursue a career as a Veterinary Technician. Ivy has a German Shepherd named Walker and a Husky named Mia. She loves crafting, drawing and spending time with her family. Ivy has a quick and vicious sense of humor. Apparently, she has an obsession with turtles and 'sugar' skulls. She loves animals and is looking forward to showing her passion for animals in her work as a Kennel Technician. Little known fact - Her mom said she snorts when she laughs!

  • AMANDA (Medical Staff)
    VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Amanda was born in Wilkes County, NC, but grew up in Statesville. She graduated from North Iredell High School in 2017. She did an internship with us for North Iredell High School's CTE Veterinary Assistant Program and worked out so well, she was offered a job. Luckily, she loved it here and accepted. Amanda is currently in the AVMA Accredited Colby community college online program to become a Veterinary Technician. Her pets consist of 2 dogs - a Shetland Sheepdog named Asher, and a Boxer named Ares. Though she doesn't like to live in the spotlight, she does like to sing and 'wiggle' dance to the music in the treatment area! We hear she is a good cook (She says she doesn't like to cook), but she has yet to bring in any evidence so we can evaluate her cooking skills - hint, hint....

  • NOLA (Pet Resort & Spa Staff)
    GUEST SERVICES TECHNICIAN

Nola was North Carolina born and raised. She was born in Sparta, NC, but was primarily raised in Cleveland and attended West Rowan High School. She was raised on a dairy farm and showed cows. She moved around a lot - California, Texas, Pennsylvania, etc., before ending up back here in North Carolina. Hired as a kennel Technician, Nola is a hard worker and brings a sunny outlook and a great sense of humor to work every day! She is a quick learner, too. Nola is the widowed mother of 2 children, Elizabeth and Devin. They have 3 pets - 2 dogs, Mazie and Jack, and a goat named Bunny. For 17 years, Nola traveled with her husband, Steve, for his job as a contractor. She still enjoys traveling in her spare time and also is a crafter, making Swarovski crystal jewelry. Interesting factoids - She LOVES Starbucks' Very Berry Hibiscus (whatever THAT is!) and is very picky about her sushi - only eats it with soy paper. She will drive the distance to get her favorite sushi!

  • KRISTIN
    (Pet Resort & Spa Staff)
    GUEST SERVICES TECHNICIAN

Kristin was born and raised in Statesville and graduated from North Iredell High School. She studied basic grooming for dogs, so she was a natural to join our kennel technician staff. Kristin lives on a farm and has as family 5 dogs (Tank, Turbo, Tutu, Bullet & Lilly), 1 goat (Boots), 1 horse (Trinity) and 1 donkey (Jack), so she knows her way around critters! Life on a farm suits her to a tee – riding horses, farming, fishing and hunting. She pursued employment at AHS as a natural extension of her life on their farm. She cares for her farm animals, so it was an easy and comfortable transition to care for the dogs and cats in our boarding facility and spa. Kristin recently took on the responsibility of being one of our chief groomers – making dogs and cats beautiful again!

  • BETHY
    (Pet Resort & Spa Staff)

She manages our Pet Spa and Resort facility. Bethy likes working here because she enjoys being with people and animals.

  • OPIE
    HOSPITAL MASCOT

Opie is our three-legged, orange clinic cat. Opie was destined to be here. One of our clients saw him being thrown from a car, and picked him up and brought him here to be checked out. Little did she know that our clinic cat, Chase, had to be put to sleep that very same day. The technicians saw it as a “sign” that Opie was meant to stay here and “work” for us. Opie likes to sleep under our clean clinic towels and will try to find surgical suture material to ingest. He’s very good at that, too, having already had an operation to remove suture material from his insides. He also likes to steal empty laboratory specimen tubes and run off with them.

She’s a great baker, and has brought many “goodies” in for us to taste test – they never last very long! She’ll do anything for anyone. While she loves animals, she definitely is also very much a people person. There are many clients (and staff members) willing to adopt her, if her parents don’t want her anymore (which is highly unlikely). ""I would like to thank everyone at the Animal Hospital of Statesville for the birthday card and wishes you sent for Toby. It truly means a lot that you take the time out of your busy schedules to send that every year; he actually sits, listens and watches most of the card. The sad part is, I think I enjoy them probably more than he does. Your professionalism and genuine caring for Toby means so much to me that I cannot begin to express my appreciation. It's been almost 9 years since you first welcomed Toby and started to treat and care for him as a puppy, and I can honestly say that bringing him to the Animal Hospital of Statesville was one of the absolute best decisions I've made in my life. The ladies and gentlemen that work there is 1st class, and I truly respect and appreciate everyone there. Thank you very much for everything!"
